Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Entertain It collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Account information: your email address and username. You can also add profile details, such as your name, bio, photo, pronouns, date of birth, gender, and interests.

Content you create: posts, comments, likes, follows, lists, finishes, and reports you file.

Device and usage data: how you use the app (for analytics), crash and error reports, and your push notification token when you allow notifications.

Sign-in providers: if you use Google or Apple sign-in, we receive basic identifiers from them to sign you in.

Waitlist: if you join the waitlist on our website, we store your email address, the date you joined, and whether you later create an account with that email.

2. How we use information

We use your information to provide and personalize the Service, authenticate you, show social activity (such as follows and feeds), send notifications you enable, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

If you join the waitlist, we use your email address to tell you when the app launches and to give you the Founding member badge.

We use analytics and crash reports to fix bugs and improve the app.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. How we share information

Profile information and content you post may be visible to other users according to the product’s social features.

Service providers: we use outside services to run the Service. Here is what each one receives.

Sentry receives crash and error reports. These are tagged with your account ID, username, and email address.

PostHog receives events about how you use the app. Until you sign in, these are tied to an anonymous device ID. After you sign in, they are tied to your account ID, username, and email address.

Expo delivers push notifications. It receives your push token and the text of each notification, which can include another person’s username and a post title or comment excerpt.

Supabase hosts our data and handles sign-in, including Google and Apple sign-in.

Resend sends our sign-up verification and password-reset emails. It also delivers report emails to our team. A report email includes both usernames, the reasons, any details, and an excerpt of the reported content.

DiceBear draws default profile pictures. For anyone without an uploaded photo, the app requests a picture using their account ID or username, so DiceBear receives that identifier and your device’s IP address.

Catalog providers: when you search, your search terms go from our server to TMDB, IGDB (Twitch), Google Books, Apple’s iTunes Search, and Podcast Index, without your identity. Cover images load directly from those providers’ servers to your device, so they can see your device’s IP address, like any website.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users or the Service.

4. Data retention

We keep your information while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize associated personal data from active systems, except where we must retain limited information for security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

Waitlist sign-ups are kept until you ask us to remove them, even if you delete your account.

5. Your choices

You can update profile information in the app, manage notification preferences, and delete your account from Account settings. You can also request account deletion without the app at https://entertainit.app/delete-account. Depending on your region, you may also have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data.

To have your waitlist sign-up removed, email [email protected]. Deleting your account does not remove a waitlist sign-up, so ask us separately.

6. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International users

If you use the Service from outside the country where our infrastructure is hosted, your information may be processed in that host country, which may have different data-protection rules than your own.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice in the app or by other reasonable means. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision.

10. Contact

Privacy questions can be sent to [email protected].
